Auschwitz-Birkenau é o nome de um grupo de campos de concentração localizados no sul da Polônia, símbolos do Holocausto perpetrado pelo nazismo. A partir de 1940 o governo alemão comandado por Adolf Hitler construiu vários campos de concentração e um campo de extermínio nesta área, então na Polônia ocupada. Houve três campos principais e trinta e nove campos auxiliares. Os campos localizavam-se no território dos municípios de Auschwitz e Birkenau, versões em língua alemã para os nomes polacos de Oswiecim e Brzezinka, respectivamente. Esta área dista cerca de sessenta quilômetros da cidade de Cracóvia, capital da região da Pequena Polônia. Os três campos principais eram: Auschwitz I -- Campo de concentração original que servia de centro administrativo para todo o complexo.
