Speaking Southern (the South has many different accents) American accentsPlease comment, Just a reply to others about misconceptions about the Southern accent here in the US (American accent) I enjoy listening to accents from around the world and I just thought I would share my story. There are many different Southern accents, American accents. Even the Southern accent changes depending on the area you are in. The South is a huge area larger than many countries so the Southern accent depends on where you are. I also love British, Irish, Scottish, Australian accents also. I am not offended by others that don't like American, or Southern accents, I love the diversity of the English language. How boring if everyone spoke the same.
