Something big this way comes: Beached Blue Whale in VenturaA 70-ft blue whale died and beached Friday, Sept. 14, 2000 on Hobson Beach Park a few miles north of Ventura, CA. I went down with my son to look at it pretty amazing to see a creature that large. Oh, the smell... Some deterioration was other sea life munching on it, the larger wound on it's belly was from an autopsy performed on the beach. As I said it was measured at 70 feet, blue whales can reach 110ft. Imagine what that would look like.
