CNN: driver flips over police carA man was arrested this afternoon following a nearly 20-minute police chase during which he rammed into two law enforcement vehicles on the Gulf Freeway, authorities said. The chase began after Harris County Precinct 8 deputy constables as well as Houston Police officers responded to a call around 3:49 pm at the Palms Apartments in the 1300 block of Gemini in Clear Lake, where a woman told them her husband had assaulted her, said Precinct 8 Chief Deputy Phil Sandlin. While searching the complex, a deputy constable located the 25-year-old man, whose identity was not released, driving a 2008 silver Honda into the complex, Sandlin said. When the deputy constable identified the man and asked him to step out of the vehicle, he refused and put his car in reverse, nearly striking the deputy and running into an HPD patrol car, Sandlin said. The man fled in his car, first driving into a parking garage and eventually leading authorities onto Bay Area Boulevard before driving north on Gulf Freeway, Sandlin said. During the pursuit, the man rammed his car into the back of an HPD officer's patrol car near Gulf Freeway and Clear Lake City Boulevard, officials said. The collision caused the patrol car to strike the center median and flip over, Sandlin said. The officer was taken to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, said HPD spokesman Sgt. John Chomiak, adding that the officer was reportedly in good condition. The chase ended about ...

Fatal Motorcycle Accident Crash - Houston, TXOn June 29th, 2008, at approximately 01:40 am, Jose Deluna was operating a 1999 Kawasaki ZX7R westbound in the 18800 block of FM 529 in the inside lane. A 2002 Ford Mustang was being operated by Jesus Catacora westbound in the 18800 block of FM 529 in the outside lane of travel. Jose Deluna was observed with the front tire of the Kawasaki off of the roadway surface riding a wheelie as he traveled westbound on FM 529. Jose Deluna failed to maintain a single lane of travel entering the outside lane of travel. Once in the outside lane of travel, Jesus Catacora struck the rear of the Kawasaki causing Jose Deluna to be ejected from the motorcycle. Jose Deluna was not wearing a helmet and was transported to St. Katherine's Hospital were he was pronounced deceased due to his injuries sustained from the collision. Jesus Catacora was found to be operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and was arrested for Felony 3rd Driving While Intoxicated. This case remains under investigaton by the Harris County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Section. Rest In Peace Jose Deluna
