Killer Home Chest WorkoutHere is a great chest workout you can do at home with a cheap dumbbell set. Big gyms are nice but when you can get a killer workout at home without the overhead of getting to and from the gym. In this chest workout we are going to do pushups, then with no rest immediately do flys, then with no rest immediately do dumbbell press. Make sure and use a much lighter weight than you usually would on the flys and dumbbell press because after the pushups you wont have much left in you. After doing this set of three exercises, wait 2-5 minutes and do it again. Do 5-8 sets like this and you will be sore the next day. As with all dumbbell exercises,form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don't use too much weight, if you can't do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud "one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand" on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise. Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. First Latch 1 of 3This is an excellent video, by the wonderful Dr Jack Newman, showing a classic cross-cradle hold, and a baby latching well. Notice how gentle and respectful of the baby Dr Newman, and the mother, are. Only two interventions happen - one to pull the baby's hand gently out of the camera view - so you can see what's happening, and one very gentle encouraging finger to the chin after latch has happened. No one is telling this baby she doesn't know what to do! :-) No one is 'traffic wardening' the mother, and making her lose confidence. This is good stuff, and if it doesn't match your own 'support' experience, find better support! There a variety of volunteer organisations who will give you this sort of support - do use them! :-) www.llli.org www.breastfeeding.asn.au www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk This baby is small and quite young. Notice how easily the mother is supporting the baby's shoulders and neck, and managing to keep the length of the baby's body snug and secure across her body. As baby gets older, and heavier, Mum and Baby will find different holds that keep them both feeling supported and happy. The important part of this video is what's happening at the mouth/nipple exchange. You hear Dr Newman say to wait for the 'gape' and then you let baby attach. Please read Kelsey's story below.... Kelsey Briggs was born in Oklahoma on December 28, 2002 after her parents Lance Briggs and Raye Dawn Smith were divorced. At the end of 2004 Raye Dawn Smith started dating a man named Michael Lee Porter, whom she met at a local bar. The first reported incident of child abuse regarding Kelsey was made on Jan.17, 2005. DHS confirmed Kelsey was abused due to the 29 bruises and abrasions all over her thighs, and buttocks. DHS confirmed Raye Dawn Smith to be the perpetrator. Kelsey's paternal grandparents Royce and Kathie Briggs were granted emergency custody of Kelsey on Jan.24, 2005. February 2005 the Judge granted Raye Dawn Smith supervised visitation with Kelsey. On March 11th, 2005 the Judge granted Raye Dawn Smith unsupervised visitation with Kelsey as long as Michael Lee Porter was not around the child during her visitation. Raye Dawn Smith married Michael Lee Porter on April 18, 2005. Kathie allowed Raye extra visits to make up for the visits she missed when Lance was home on leave April 4 - 11, 2005. The paternal grandmother Kathie suspected Raye was allowing Porter around Kelsey. April 14th ...
