I was born in Southern England, when I was 14, I met a girl online from New Zealand talked to her online for about 3 years about a year after I met her online, I promised I would go visit her one day. Just after my 17th birthday I had about €5500 which was just over 10,000 NZD at the time. I took the trip to Wellington Airport and had the best time of my life.. I had never been abroad in my life. so this kind of life experience, may never come around my way again. NZ is so beautiful.. :'(
5. What about taxes? and social security retirement? Do you relinquish that? I am a citizen of NZ by descent (my grandfather and great grandfather were original settlers etc.) How do you get your money out of the country????

8. I'm looking to move over there in November and want to get permanent residency so i can live there and also get the discount for school. How long does it take and how much does it cost to do it? I can't find anything about either of those things online. Also, how easy is it to get a job, I'll have enough to live there for 3 months, but need a job. I'm going to be living with my girlfriends parents for a few weeks to get acclaimated and it'll give us time to look at apartments in wellington. thx

14. I guess some people are more impressionable in speech than others. I got hooked on the Australia disney show H2O. After a week of watching them, all of my thoughts were in an australian accent and my speech had a slight twang to it.
15. I'm a kiwi and you sound very kiwi in this video (bar a few words).. Which is strange as most foreigners don't usually pick up the kiwi accent.

18. heyo, im a fellow american living in new zealand with a similar story, i moved with my partner about two years ago b/c it would be easier to live here together than in the Us. It is also a same sex partnership, and gotta agree with you on how difficult things are. Ie. the exams, the money, the applications, and the certificate of good conduct was the worst.... i am not a resident just on a work permit. but i definitely enjoyed listening to your story! :-)
