1. y'all have it wrong. I'm in a wheelchair, and I'll tell you right now, disabled people act the same in all arenas. Some of us are model material, some aren't. some of us are pompous, some of us are humble. some of us are jerks, some of us are nice. The judging these judges do to the disabled models is no different than in the able bodied world, and that's how it should be. lastly, I'm no fan of reality TV, but if someone of sound mind wants to do it, then disability or not, thats their right.
2. deaf people are way more isolated from the world than blind people, just do the test: 1. close your eyes and have a meal with your family; 2. put in earplugs so that you hear nothing or next to nothing (not allowed to speak either) and have dinner with your family. You'll be surprised.
3. fuck this. im an arm amputee & im becomming a mopdel not for self esteem! im doing it because i love taking pictures, i love showing personality in my photos and i love showing the world what i have to offer. no one would ever understand that until they step in our shoes. we as amputees are proud and shouldn't be looked on as any differnt! i think this show is a cool idea but in some sense they should let us amputees be on the regular model show!
4. TYT is dead wrong on this one, I have friends who are disabled and they like to be looked at just like they was anyone else. Not looked over or ignored because people are not sure how to deal with their problems life has handed them, if disabled people have no issue with doing this why should we stand in their way of self fulfillment if you can not cope. That's your problem not theirs!

6. i am really outragged at their commentary! and angry! these two people have no idea of other peoples feelings because like they look so perfect to the eyes of everyone but talking like that they no longer perfect to me they are a bunch of ignorant people.i hope they know that the modeling buisness has a market for disabled models because for yoyr nformation some people with disabilities need special clothing and this has a market.

Also it is to show people have a life after a disabilty and that the life of a person doesn't stop because they are sick or have a disability.I am disabled because of the lupus i suffer from but i am still a complete woman and i can show that to other women that are disabled and be an inspiration to them just like when i see another disabled model they are an inspiration to me.;)
8. i agree just because a person is disabled doesn't mean they are not beautiful.I also think that these two people telling this story misunderstand the concept of it all.The reason disabled models exist is so that everyone sees there are beautiful people even if they have a disability.I have a disability but i consider myself a beautiful woman.

I have been a para for 27 yrs and it has never stopped me from doing anything, no not even walking (with braces). I found that I accomplish more in my chair. I have worked hard to get where I need to be in life and no short cuts were given. Wish all ppl, walking and not, would do that :)

18. I think this show is an amazing idea- any one of us could get in a car accident tomorrow and lose a limb or our ability to walk. Does that mean that we can no longer be considered beautiful? NO! There is beauty in everyone and we really need to start acknowledging that.

24. exploitation or not, TYT is implying that disabled people or amputees are automatically less attractive. As an amputee, I cannot help but be offended my the guy speaking. They talk like they know everything. He is not just insensitive but also shallow and condescending! In any case, the show CAN be a "Self esteem booster" for disabled people watching. The women in the videos are all beautiful!
