3. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Roland isn't a saint. He was a son of Carl's ("the Great") sister and a person responsible for the law enforcement.  Lachplesis (not La's'plesis) is a a great story by A.Pumpurs. And he isn't a hero, but a mere myth.
4. Rolands is not a national hero :) He is the saint and patron of travelers and traders. A very popular saint in the medieval Riga full of hanseatic merchants. Latvian national hero is Lasplesis (i know, not a chance to pronounce this one) - a Bearslayer... He didn't really slay bears tho, he had bear ears :)

6. The Center of Latvian Riga. The dude with the sword is Roland, a national hero, also known in Spain. Well the whole old part of Riga looks like that...

13. Yep, 1000% it is Riga. Live there. The center of the city is nice. A good combination of German (the old city) and Russian arhitecture. Yet they didn't show many other good places. There are nice parks...Other monuments. Like Milda or the gigant obelisk-like thing (monumen to victory in WWII) on the other bank of the Daugava.

23. 15 years ago maybe it was russia but not now... Its deffinately Latvia. I went their once. Wish I could have stayed longer than 9 days and seen more. Great Country Latvia. In this video I would have like to seen more of the House of Blackheads. The architecture of that building is incredible. Jc.
