That's so weird! It almost sounds like another person!
lol I love how it's like texan-ish. :3
i tried putting on an english accent myself but it's too damn hard lol
For me, American to English was very easy.
Wow, it's incredible how the accent changes everything... My native language is not english, and although I got almost a native level over years and years of studying, I can understand him quite easily here... But when he was in the Doctor Who series, I had to listen twice or more to understand him. Not to mention some bits of bloopers where he talks with his real scottish accent, I didn't understand him at all!
Heh, still non-rhotic. Which is weird, after all Scots pronounce "r"...
To me, he sounds like a weird mixture of a New York and Texan dialect...
i don't know what's harder to do. if your american and trying to put on a british accent or if your british and trying to put on a american accent
he looks kinda ugly when his not in his normal or the doctor
I can't even tell it's David Tennant when he speaks in the American accent lol.
I totally want to find this audio book... Just because of David. :)
I love this man it doesn't matter what accent he has. DAVID TENNANT IS FLAT OUT GREAT!
David Tenant's original speaking accent is actually Scottish, so he's a very accent-versatile person. Scottish naturally, British in all his shows, American here.
I don't hear a difference... oh wait there we go :D
David Tennant is the man of accents.
It sounds like Marty McFly.
how much you wanna bet he was thinking of john barrowman to get this american accent right? :D
Sounds good to me,but then i never lost my Scots accent after 30 years in America!
agreed, i'm a new yorker spending time in alabama that accent doesnt sound like anything i've ever heard from either. it sound like an american that got rid of his accent, you'd have to ask him where he's from
Sounds a little bit like Jimmy Stewart to me :-)
Being from the South, I can say- Nah, not Southern, or even old-fashioned Southern. IMO, his accent sounds like something from the early 1900's possibly from the Northeast or Midwest. From hearing that accent, the first thing that popped in my mind, "Were is he from?"- NO regional dialect or inflections to identify a person coming from North America. Nice try though.
It sounded like he was gonna say, "He wore it under his tricorder"... lol, but he said tricorn instead XD
He does to me too. :(
Generic, but good. It reminds me of Americans from the mid-west in the 1980s...
A sample of David's American accent. From the Audio book ' The Beast of Clawstone Castle'
If you didn't know David has the lead role in an American tv pilot. http://bit.ly/3ocqvn
I think its pretty good. Instead of going very bland..or completely southern..its just a kinda southernish accent. Sounds like him but it doesn't sound scottish or english either.
I tell you what I've heard far worse American accents .. what do you think?
Update: the pilot for the show was apparently not accepted. But for those asking here is a way to buy the audio book..
