there are debates as to who came up with the concept of multitrack tape recording actually.. Ross Snyder claims he'd thought of it prior to Paul reaching out to Ampex to produce his idea. Snyder designed the Sel-Sync system which is what makes the multi-track recording possible.. so it can be said that it was his invention.. from what I gather, Les Paul and Ross Snyder played equal roles in 'Inventing' multitrack recording
You probably know this but, Les Paul not only invented the electric guitar he was very much an innovator who invented lots of stuff. He was responsible for echo chambers, overdubbing and multi-tracking. Yep, he invented multi-track taping. The 8-track was perfected by Lear but, it was invented by Les Paul. There are more inventions but I can't think of them right now.
Anyhow, good job! Thanks for keeping Les Paul alive!

Great video, Mike. I love the pictoral evolution of the "Les Paul" guitar. A couple of comments .......
Barb has seen Les Paul in NYC more than once. Actually 3-4 times and has actually had a couple of conversations with him. She also has 2 personally autographed photos of him. These are not the 'publicity' kind of photos. They were taken at one performance that we attended and autographed at another.
