In the 1980s and when this song became a hit someone on tv said "this is what a bunch of unemployed Maori can achieve". The freezing works at Patea had recently been closed down. The Patea Maori Culture Club then created a song that to this day brings tears of pride, and yes I am a pakeha,to my eyes. They did not let events of the past interfer or influence their future. They created a song that is now an icon.We can learn alot out of each and every member of the Patea Maori Culture Club.

not a clue who this lady is in the video clip - I am in the UK - I watch this clip 3 maybe 3 times a week - its brilliant
classic music video from the 80's. Thanks C4 for bringing this video back to life, and making this the number one, one-hit wonder kiwi music video, of all times.
