chur true that bro ;)
Respond to this video... Especially at 1:48 with the old people on the beach.
Just my opinion but I thought this was hilarious and hit the nail on the head.
Lol umm the skit isn't really that funny, in fact it's kinda boring. I think the comments are more interesting. First off, these aren't Aussie's lol, and secondly if ya gonna get pissed about someone taking the piss out of your country, at least make sure it's worth arguing about, because this skit is pretty shithouse and not very funny. Happy world cup! >:P
I've lived in NZ longer than you and I've also lived in London for 10 years. This is a pretty good piss take of NZ I think :-)
I hope your post is trying to take the piss and just failing, otherwise you should stay in skool.

I think this video is designed just for you. Lots of slow singing so you can understand.
Well I hate to break this to you but this WAS made by Kiwis back in 1987. It was a TVNZ comedy show called "funny business" (and it was awesome and sadly now forgotten). The comedians are Willy de Witt, Ian Harcourt, Peter Murphy and something Butler.
And we mostly DID talk like that back then, and older NZlanders and many people outside of Auckland still do. True be told it's actually better than the even stupider-sounding newer accent.
And it's still pretty bang-on too.
First of all Donny; NZ is a very isolated country, and the fact you've only lived in NZ underlines my point that you're probably unaware of our image (which btw is pretty tiny) in the wider world.
And when you grow up you might get out into the world and the magnitude of that may dawn on you. And it may also dawn on you that this is actually remains pretty accurate portrayal of a large minority of NZ, and when you get the defensive chip off your shoulder you may get a sense of humour.
this had to be made from Australians . Seriously get over it .
they're making a piss take who cares . we know its beautiful .
these people barely have the capability to pronounce english language even if they are mocking us , clearly we don't talk like this . Pretty sure this has to be the worst diss of our country ever . aha! how dry .
oh ive only lived in nz for 18 years and know generally know what people are about. i was born and raised in nz and love this place, make jokes that are based on fact not faction!
You do realise that these are New Zealand's comedians from the late 1980's right? that's our comedians laughing at New Zealand, and it was funny and still is. Now calm down and stop taking yourself so seriously.
Hey Donny, how much of the world have you seen to hold this confidence that Darius' opinion is not common?
No they're still pretty typical of NZ. Or at least the real NZ south of the Bombay hills.
Well aside from showing yourself up as a pretentious moron, you also need to get a sense of humour. I'm a New Zealander and I thought it was as funny as when I saw it years ago, because this is what much of our hoi polloi are like and we are a pretty modest country behind the BS TVNZ feeds you.
And we are NOT very well spoken and our English seems to get worse all the time. Even I can't understand some younger Kiwi accents with all the "bro" and the corrupted vowels and bad elocution.
Gotta say we've become MORE precious judging by the precious comments on here.
They all Kiwi comedians from the 1980's. I remember them, one of them is Peter de Witt.
Hahahaha love it! I remember this from the late 1980's. And it hit the nail on the head.
funny how most people dont get the joke of this
Haha, I thought it was the misfits cast...otherwise, boring.
kiwi kiwi kiwi oi oi oi kiwi kiwi kiwi oi oi oi
oh nice outfit ozzies how long were in inside for???? OUCH LMAO HAHAHAHA
Obviously the average age of people commenting on this is about 15. This comes from a NZ comedy show, Funny Business from the 1980s. All the members are New Zealanders, NOT Australians. At the time NZ was a very different place, so it was probably funnier then than it is now. That IS Auckland in the background. One thing that it does highlight however, is that in more than 20 years most of us kiwis still haven't learnt to laugh at ourselves. We are still as insecure about our identity as ever.
