12. They have to enforce a rule disallowing shoulder charging. Way too dangerous. Need a rule like union where you must make an attempt to use your arms in the tackle.

20. yes true, I only commented because you'd said 'whereas union has been around for decades'. Leagues has been with us for over 11 decades... I'm not sure whether the relative age of the codes has much to do with it. Your second argument about physicality is perhaps more valid. But I reckon the fact that union rather than league travelled the globe with the british army during the colonial years probably aided its spread more than anything...
