This is a very sad song and one of history. Thanks, Jim.
My mum too
I have loved someone that much also and she and I would listen to Jim together. She told me the meaning of this song .I wish I had never loved that much.
There has been a time or so that I've been an hour so from camp, wet, cold, tired. I have always thought "I bet there's hot biscuits in the pan". Never was. Get in, feed, water and rub down the horses, then fix something to eat. Damn that mountain hunting was fun.
The guita music is just awesome, this is what made country music.
Maybe just a song, but it means a lot to me!
I'm sorry.....
ahhhh memories...my mam loved old country and i guess coz now i am listening to this i do...i love you mam xxx
Very nice video for my favorite Jim Reeves song. Thanks for sharing, Katy.
My husband left me. Dont feel bad. When you tell them they just grow cold and dont give a shit.
hot biscuits :D
This one still gives goosebumps "he was only 100 yards from mary ann" just classic you can't hear em' like this anymore.
The melodious age......(apart from very few talents today, Amy Mc Donald, for instance..; there are so much crap that one wonders what the heck is going on in the emotional world)

My god man
this is pretty fucking heartbreaking :(
This is Hank Garland on acoustic Guitar. Thank you for posting, Billy Garland (Brother of the Legendary Guitarist Hank Garland). Beautiful song.
Great music
Most of those old songs were in three chords, a dominant, sub dominant and a third. If you focus on them clearly and really listen, you can usually figure out which chord it is. Tears In Heaven was my most challenging one in the key of A, but I got it by ear also. You can try that with most of those cool old songs. It works well. Good luck.
2-7-2012 rarely do i read comments-but, yours made me so envious. can only read music. known this song ( & more) from my father. AWESOME MUSIC! JUST SIMPLE & LOVELY. GOING TO TRY PLAYING U'R CHORDS! THANKS!
I was a little child in the 50's when dad used to sing this to me. Gawd I balled!! But I atill remember, and love it. I'm 58 now. Still feel the pain.
