nice, enjoyed it...thanks for d upload =)
It's ironic how this video is made to teach Australian slang and yet arse is spelt with a double S. Fucken proper job mate.
Also, a keyboard warrior is someone who greatly insults someone knowing they are safe behind their computer. Tell me, when did I insult you? Obvious troll is obvious. One minute you say it's south aus thing, right after I tell you people all over aus say it, then you call it bogan, then call me a keyboard warrior after insulting me. There's far too much irony and ignorance in everything you say. Either you suck at trolling or theres something more serious wrong with you. I apologise if so.
I found something you should have a read of, it's sad adults are getting lazy with teaching children these things, it may not be important to you, but as someone whos grandpa fought in the war and used slang, calling it bogan is an insult. The meaning of bogan is "low class citizen" my family and friends are not "low class" and obviously know more about this land than you ever will.. so sad..
Jamberoo is in the city. The slang must just be ancient. anyway, it might just be a south australian thing. ya never know. but yeah, hardly anyone uses half of this stuff anymore. Maybe people who come from bogan towns speak a lot more slang that is put in this video. either way, it doesnt matter. last comment against the keyboard warrior. :)
Let me put it in simple terms for you, it means living in country area but with city people. I come from South Australia and places like Murray Bridge are outside the city but people regularly come to and from central Adelaide. I have lived and been to many places around Australia, most of those here on this vid come from the city who haven't heard it.
Once again, when I went to school Australian slang was taught. You may not know it but it very much exists, it exists in many country parts of Australia and is not any less Australian like I said in the beginning. Perhaps one day if you decide to start travelling you will learn more about the different slang all over Aus. I have a great friend who lives near Jamberoo nsw and very much speaks slang. Isn't that amusing? 5 hours difference and you've never heard of it. Class over, time to go.
I live in Muswellbrook, and before that lived in Dubbo. Thats ages from the city, 4 hours and 7 hours respectively. I have been around country people forever and have never heard any of them say half this stuff. sounds like you live not far from the city from what you are saying. And this video is meant to be instructional, and I was curious. hence why I'm here
What do you consider 'country' tinkerbell? Not half n hour from the city I hope? Also age can be a factor, my old school I went to when I was younger doesn't teach Australian slang any more. But once again it doesn't make it any less Australian. People who move to the country who never grew up there, comments are moot pretty much. Also, may I also ask why you are here if you don't know anything about Australian slang?
I live in the country and we don't say half this stuff... never heard of half of it. so thats not entirely true.
Hmmm. A lot of these I've heard before, but I've never heard someone use the C word... We just don't do that.
But commonly used words are: Mate, Crikey, Sheila, Bloke, Bloody Oath, Rightio/Righto, and Tucker/Smoko.
absolute fuckin Gold!
we fuckin australian don't fuckin swear that much
The ball & chain's ya missus ya bloody wombat. Not the train. And Wazza is short for a bloke called Warren.
AHH good old Ausie English My favourite word is Bloody because you can "use it before, after and inbloodybetween any thing" G'day from down under
Heard of em all mate, but no Aussie I know uses the C word... F word yes, but not the C word.
lolz really awesome Mate now i wont be so lost when i talk my girl who so happends to be a Aussie n.n me i'm a Yank
Dang mate that was a good one, you must be a real Aussie!
If you're new to Australia, familarize yourself with these terms so you know where you are at. This is only a starting base but you will get the hang of it, and it will open up an entire new world to you. Alot of the profanity's are terms of endearmeant so it's strongly advised you do NOT try to use these sayings, because said the wrong way or to the wrong person could damage your health. The idea is to know what is meant by them, if you ever hear them said, and to know they are not meant to offend you. Cheers Mate.
