14. A lot of people from New Zealand are of European descent, but that doesn't mean they can't adopt aspects and national pride of the culture and people who were there long before them. If the European immigrants and Maori natives had been on a level playing field in terms of technology that kind of cultural blending probably would have occurred naturally. Honestly, I think adopting the local heritage as a part of your own is a better way than just stomping it out to impose your homeland's culture.

19. Because of something called mixed blood. Most Maori of today are of mixed heritage. The original Maori had brown skin as the rest of the Polynesian race. But they still descend from a Polynesian people regardless.
