You can trip over wires or guitars can become unplugged while playing. Wireless lets you move more freely and safely. Nice try
I'm from Finland, Europe and loved this band more than 30yrs
Skynyrd is the best thing that came from Jacksonville, Fl!! The Jags SUCK!!!
Just so ya'll know....I was born and raised in Jacksonville!
R.I.P. to the greatest band that EVER lived!! Let's go Jacksonville, FL!!
was doing my county-time fighting my case in berdoo,...& I missed music like U don't know, & seemed like all I ever heard was the crap on t.v./BET~bullshit,.... & then this came on ! i knew it on the very 1st note, was in my cell but energized to the glass,.... to catch Ronnie out in front (wtf else wud he be ! lol) with SouthernCross behind him, & Skynyrd blistering thru FreeBird ! R.I.P.
Did anyone notice how at 3:09 when the guy was playing the piano, the guitar player behind him made his guitar cherp like a bird...sweet
They still don't understand. sadly.
Kids, this is why Johnny Winter and Leon Russell were good for Lynyrd Skynyrd!!
<3
Very nice this song, Free Bird, which in Italian means "Uccello Libero" I especially like the slide guitar.
The South will rise again!
VERY SAD
Everything you have said here is true, so I don't understand why you disagree with me. There is plenty of sources stating that Allen Collins girlfriend was the inspiration for the opening lines, That doesn't mean that Ronnie didn't 100% write the song. Anyways all of this is so trivial and I will say no more and just enjoy the song. Thanks for postng.
Fucking airplanes, Man.
this was played at everyone's dads funeral that shit is lame
Nope. I respectfully disagree. Ed King told how it went down, the band had the riff for a long time, and Ronnie came up with lyrics later on, by himself. I know Steve Gaines wrote some songs but that was much after Free Bird. It's an icon of a song so whatever, I don't care enough about the origin enough to argue about it. Thanks, and enjoy it! Peace.
Ronnie did write the lyrics, but the other guy is correct in saying that Allen Collins girlfriend came up with the opening lines. She wrote Allen a letter saying "If I leave here tomorrow, Would you still remeber me? Ronnie saw this and used the lines and came up with the rest of the song from there.
Amazing all . lord thanks for this .
are you kiddin me,still the the rocking best song of all time
Hey Just Thanks...
Horseshit. Lyrics were Ronnie's deal, and this song is about his early demise. He always believed he would die young. It's about "leaving" for good. The band wrote the music, Ronnie did the rest.
You should be more tolerant of peoples decisions in life...
Hey Kids! See those wires hanging out of the guitars? See how the drums move when the guy hits them? Hear how the singer's voice sounds sort of 'human'? This was mad, mad stuff from the old days of music called "playing live" and "talent".
