i loved
You seem to have VERY good hearing for the "fwip!" I didn't even hear the sound the first time I heard this.
WoW! I never heard this version in all these years before. Thanks so much for posting! its GREAT
I actually had the 12 in US single and the bass line was heavy on it when played. The song was on both sides as a promo, and every time the bass would crash in and sound like a dance club in the room. I bought the ABBA Definitive Collection and the bass line was not there.
♪♫♥ !
Love it :) Thank you !
I think that is one of the best analogies regarding the Loudness War I have read!
STILL awesome! <3
That is the overall loudness of the remaster. Ii was never as loud as that originally. I transferred the 12in original and out vid on YT. What happens is that it's like a 1MP photo enlarged to A3. The resolution suffers and it's not pleasant to look at unless it's a long way away. A loudness war master suffers similarly and is only pleasant at very low volumes which are not satisfying to listen to.
Bloody hell that is loud!
Well its the only official remix done by ABBA themselves, all others are fan/DJ made!
It was done in 1979, after Atlantic asked them to do a remix of this song for the dance clubs. It was never released on CD until 2001, which was remastered by Astley. Both the 2001 and 2005 remasers are compressed, but the 2005 remaster doesn't have heavy noise reduction.
This is a superb mix! Was it done while ABBA were still current? It even sounds cool coming out of my tinny laptop speakers! I especially like the chuggy bass in the lead up to the chorus, but the edits are all too obvious! Listen out for a "fwip" at 2:31 especially!
I don't have that one, but I can imagine how it must sound like.
Yes I do, I was just listening to it today. Has a dynamic range as big as a house! The WORST remaster is the 1997 edition of ABBA Live, I can hear the high level of compression, sounds like someone is playing with the volume knob, its terrible!
They are indeed. Do you have he 1982 CD version of 'The Visitors'? I love that one.
Well the best are the original, unremastered editions. The bootleg Op 10 has a full dynamic version of this song. But it is sad that there is no audiophile version of The Album.....
I agree, the CSR remasters are so much better than Astley's!

The extended remix of Voulez-Vous, found in The Complete Studio Recordings box set and The Definitive Collection. This version comes from the Complete Studio Recordings box set. As an audiophile, I absolutely hate Jon Astley's remaster for The Definitive collection, so I used Henrik Jonsson's master instead.
