What a useful and interesting piece of input.
Congrats on actually having correct grammar though.
While it does It has a geographical definition, it is defined mainly by the culture and language spoken.
It is a region defined geographically. Google it.
I didn't say that it wasn't a region, only that it is a region defined culturally rather than politically or geographically.
Latin America is indeed a region, though. It encompasses everything from Mexico all the way down to the Cape Horn.
Actually, I was dead on. While I didn't go into the detail of listing all of the countries I didn't make any mistakes.
Almost!
North America is comprised of The United States, Canada, and the Central American countries (Mexico, Honduras, Cuba, Puerto Rico, etc.).
South America is everything on the South American continent (Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, etc.)
You were quite close, though.
no! america es el continente, y el término correcto es estados unidos de américa para referirse al país. sorry. better luck in the next life
Here are the lyrics for those that want to learn this fantastic song by Hugh Laurie
"america, america, america-america-america-america, america-hoh-oh, america, america, america, america
states, states, the states, states, the states
america, america, ---"
People cant have any ideas of continents. There is only one geographically correct way. The problems start when due to political reasons it begins to change. We are not too far off when Central America and the Middle East will become "continents" by the looks of it.
In most places there is a separation between what is a continent and what is a region.
So as far as continents go there is just ONE America... and its with a capital A.
different ppl have different ideas of continents......and its called the americas.
You know, I don't like to boast... but I know all the words to this song.
All of them.
Best song about America :DDD
North and south america are two different continents, (The United States of) America is a country, and Latin America is a cultural rather than geographic or political term.
I think that this sketch is also commenting on the rather stereotypical american view that they are the most important, and that all of america Bellow to them.
OMG LMAO Hugh is amazing hahahha so adorable
Ehh, Latin America is basically of of the Americas except Canada and the US
Despite the fact that I love this sketch, I must say that America can be separated into North, Latin and South...That's all folks ;)
America is a continent.
So is Eurasia.
America can be separated into North and South.
Eurasia can be separated into Europe and Asia.
America can also refer to a country, 99% of USA (or USNA if NA is a continent) citizens call their country "America" and themselves "Americans" (although 98% of them are immigrants).
The exact reasons for that are unknown, supposedly close to 600 million of other people living on that continent arent "Americans" (including natives) according to their beliefs.
