Yes, I know a whole bunch of people who also like the southern accent. To me, useing all these long vaols is a kind of singing.
But I dont think that the northern accent is colorless...my uncle's from New Hampshire and I just love his accent, but I also have some friends in Wisconsin...their accent was very easy to understand..nice and smooth. Not as my uncle's gurgling =P
I'm up north, my accent is 'standard', or colorless :P. I guess it's sort of business-like.
I've heard other non-American English speakers say they like the southern accent. Very interesting.
Haha^^...I do have family in the US but Im from Germany. I always loved the American accents especially the southern accent with its looong vaols. My English teacher always wanted me to adopt the Britisch accent you lern in school...she just gave up after a while ; )
Since I'm an American, I guess I kind of have to say thanks for loving the accent! :-) You're one of the few people in the English-speaking world I've ever heard say that!
I'm from the US South, so not quite the standard "American" accent. Even within the rest of the US people are fascinated w/ my accent, but they always think I'm from Texas - that's a COMPLETELY different accent! ARGH lol.
I like your accent too - def. be proud of it!
