Have you heard "The Lord is my Light"? That song is also in 16 languages and is being sung in different areas. . Over and out.

The music for this classic scripture song was written in 1962 by a pioneer of modern day scripture song composers. Her name was Pauline Michael Mills (1898-1991). I'm not sure when or where I learned this song, but it makes a great song to sing at the end of a prayer meeting. We did that for years in the neighborhood where I lived in middle Tennessee in the late '80s and early '90s. There were a number of us who would get together at one of our homes each Wednesday evening to pray and worship together. We all lived within walking distance of each other and it was definitely a high point each week. We lived in the country, and each of us had several acres we tried to build houses and raise gardens on. Some of us were more successful than others, but we all tried to help and encourage each other as much as we could. It was definitely a learning experience, and not all the lessons we learned were pleasant, but one of the pleasant things I do remember were the prayer meetings, and all the songs we sang (many of which we composed while we lived there). This song, however, became our traditional closing song after each prayer meeting, and it always seemed to punctuate our prayers very nicely, leaving us feeling and believing we had truly met with God, and I believe we did.
