11. They are renting it. Someone else owns the house. Instead of buying the house they 'borrow' it so to say. When someone rents a house they sign a lease. 1 year, 2, 3. You can renew it if you want to stay longer. In other words, they don't own their house.
12. It depends on how long the lease is and if when the lease is up the person actually wants to stay or not.
